Dame Margaret Barbour designed the Bedale® with riding practicalities in mind: a shorter length, a relaxed fit, rear vents and the essential nylon "inner drip strip" which provided resistance to horse moisture seeping into the the jacket. Made from mid-weight 6oz waxed cotton and fully interactive with thermal liners and optional zippered hoods, the Bedale® is a great year-round jacket.
The popularity of the Bedale® has inspired a slimmer version for women: the Beadnell, named after a small fishing village in Northumberland.
